I'm taking a stand against cliffhanger "endings"

The half of the book I read wasn't bad. It had parts that seemed almost directly from 50 Shades and Bared to You, but I could overlook that. I was about half way through when I began to question the pages left and how the plot was developing. I went back and scoured reviews and found one that explained that this book is not the beginning in a series where different characters get their own books, rather, it is like so many now that make no attempt at resolution. So I returned it for a refund! Authors, don't write a book just to get people hooked so they'll spend more money buying three short books rather than one long one. They may not be the intention, but that's the way it feels.

I had really high expectations for this book. The premise was good, the characters seemed engaging, and there were plenty of positive reviews to support those expectations. But none of those things turned out to be true with this novel. There was no character development and some aspects of the story just weren't believable.
The hardest thing for me to deal with was the writing. There is a serious need for an editor and pre-reader here. There were way too many silly mistakes (like then being substituted for than) and the sentence structure was weird in some places. It really needs a lot of work.
I honestly wanted to like this story, but it fell short in every area, in my opinion, so I cannot recommend it.

Loved loved loved

I am still fanning myself! This was a refreshing change of pace.....a few secrets yes, but no one was "damaged" as they all seem to be these days. Sex is very hot but not raunchy, F*** bomb a bit but mostly by Jack when he is in the throws of...well you know:-)
Sydney is a singer who is on her "honeymoon" with her best friend enjoying a relaxing week after she called off her wedding (fiancé was cheating on her...but it was already pretty much over) She is smart, beautiful, vulnerable, reasonable and did not over think every little thing...she actually thought it through...shocker!
Jack is very rich but you don't really find out about all that until a little further in the book.....he has a few skeletons, but is an honest, beautiful alpha male who is controlling (especially in the bedroom...who cares) he is also supportive, wants her to be happy and wants to be worthy of her.....he is even vulnerable at times.
When they meet in Hawaii and have an instant attraction they agree to a week of fun. Sydney to get past her ex and lets face it Jack could make you forget your own name! Jack because he is instantly taken with her and just wants to be with her....but that is all new for him because he is not a relationship kind of guy and he is not quite sure of what to do with how he feels.
Before the week is over it has turned into more than just fun for both of them. Story is continued in NewYork....This was one of those books that I read in one sitting, loved everything about it except now I have to wait for the second book of the series! So be prepare this a....to be continued!
